Sawgrass Mills – Shop til you drop!

If you’re planning a shopping trip to Miami or Fort Lauderdale, then you can’t miss Sawgrass Mills!!!! This huge outlet mall is located about 45 minutes from Miami Beach and 25 minutes from Fort Lauderdale.

Sawgrass Mills is the largest outlet, value retail and entertainment destination in the U.S.  There are many outlet  stores as well as regular stores but with a great prices and lots of sales!  There are also stores like Target,  Burlington Coat Factory,  Marshalls,  Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th, T.J. Maxx, and Neiman Marcus among many others.

At Off 5Th and Neiman Marcus you’ll find brand names like Prada, Marc Jacobs, Gucci, Burberry etc.

Prada, Michael Kors, Valentino and Armani are some of the stores you’ll find at this mega mall. The bags at Michael Kors store are to die for!  With great prices!

Sawgrass has more than 10 restaurants, like :

• Cheesecake Factory;
• RainForest Café and
• Grand Lux Café

To name a few, where they open for lunch, dinner or just a desert or wine break!

But if you don’t want to waste your shopping time eating, you have  lots of fast food places to choose from.

Be prepared to walk!!! Wear comfy shoes! This mall is really big and can be confusing without a map, with more than 350 stores there’s an amazing variety to see and buy. If you are looking for a smaller outlet mall,  than you might like the Dolphin Mall better, which is smaller and closer to Miami Airport.

Some advice to make your shopping day a bit easier :

1. Get a map at the Guest Services as soon as you get there, ( theres one by Burlington Coat Factory) otherwise you might be walking in circles. Or better yet, before you leave your hotel look at the list of stores and pick the ones you really want to stop by. Going into every store will just make you extremely tired and miss the stores you really want to see.
2. If posible do NOT visit during the weekends, It will be extremely busy with residents and weekend tourists. There will be long lines …to try something on and to pay. Hard to find parking . So AVOID weekends!
3. Rent a shopping cart so you don’t have to make many trips back to the car. They are by the  mall entrance. If you planning on buying  luggage.. consider using it to carry your purchases as you shop.
4. Pay attention to where you parked, the parking lot is really big. When you arrive it’s morning but when you leave it’s dark so you’ll have a hard time finding your car. Just make a note of the parking lot letter or the 1st store you went in.

The added outdoor part is called The Colonnade.

If you are only coming to this area to visit Sawgrass Mills then I recommend you stay in one of these hotels that offer complimentary shuttle service to the mall, free breakfast and free wi-fi.

If you would like to visit Miami then I would choose a hotel there since there’s much more to see and do.

Sawgrass Mills has a movie Theater. Regal Sawgrass Movies 23 is located outside by Ron Jo Surf Shop.
